The Florida congresswoman’s bill would defer removal for eligible illegal aliens on a seven-year, renewable basis and create pathways to permanent legal status.

Trump endorses pro-Amnesty Candidate for Congress — National File

President Donald Trump has again endorsed Florida Rep. María Elvira Salazar while praising her commitment to border security.

Breanna Morello flagged the contradiction: Salazar is the lead Republican sponsor of H.R. 4393, the DIGNIDAD Act, which critics call a mass-amnesty measure.

Trump’s Aug. 17 endorsement said Salazar was working to “Keep our Border SECURE” and “Stop Migrant Crime.” He gave the Miami-area congresswoman his “Complete and Total Endorsement” for re-election, renewing an endorsement he had already issued in February.

“María is working hard to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime.” — Donald J. Trump

But Congress.gov’s official summary says Salazar’s bill establishes a Dignity Program that defers removal for eligible people without legal status for seven years at a time. The program is renewable if participants meet work or education requirements, pay restitution, and satisfy other conditions.

The bill also creates paths to lawful permanent resident status for qualifying people, including DACA recipients. It remains at the introduced stage with 39 cosponsors.

The DIGNIDAD Act includes E-Verify and border-enforcement provisions. But its central bargain remains clear: long-term legal protection for people who entered or remained in the country unlawfully.

Trump’s renewed Salazar endorsement puts that bargain squarely inside the party’s immigration fight.
