AG Todd Blanche was on “Fox News Sunday” with host Shannon Bream to talk about deportations. He explained that the Trump administration is following the Constitution and the law regarding removing illegal aliens from the United States.
Blanche also explained that there are some countries that will not take back their own citizens, so they had to find another country that would take them.
Blanche also discussed election monitoring for the midterm elections. The claims made by the left that there would be armed monitors, he said, were “completely false.”
“The court made news this week, taking up one of the immigration cases that’s gotten a lot of attention about deporting people to third-party countries where they have no connection,” Bream said.
“How will you answer that in court?” Bream asked regarding claims made by plaintiffs that they were being abused in the process.
“It’s not true. What the plaintiffs have tried to do in this case, unsuccessfully by the way, because the Supreme Court has stayed that case,” Blanche said.
“We give absolutely appropriate amount of notice and of due process that the law requires. Now remember, what we are talking about here are individuals that where, they are not citizens. They are here illegally, and their own countries say, we do not want them back,” Blanche said.
“We have to find somewhere to send them. And that again, as a nation, as a sovereign nation, the United States has to be able to do that,” Blanche continued.
“This idea that we are violating human rights and that the President and that the United States is doing something to damage and put these people in harm’s way is just categorically false,” Blanche said.
“The DOJ is planning to send out a thousand monitors to the polls during the midterm elections,” Bream said.
“What exactly is the plan? Who are these monitors gonna be? And how do you answer critics who say it’s about intimidation?” Bream asked.
“I wish that the Senators and Congressman that are saying this fear, fearmongering false statements would just not do that. It’s not fair to the American people,” Blanche said.
“Since the 60’s, the Department of Justice has monitored elections. Every single election has been monitored,” Blanche said.
“President Trump is doing the same thing that every single administration has done in our generation, in multiple generations,” Blanche continued.
“They are going to every state to make sure that our elections are carried out legally, fairly, and appropriately, and again, this happens in every single election,” Blanche continued.
“Who are these people gonna be? Though the accusation it’s gonna be armed federal agents. Is that accurate, true, or false?” Bream asked.
“That is completely false. They are gonna be election monitors as they are every single time,” Blanche said.
