Everything is going as expected. Ukraine does not seem interested in peace talks. They only want to buy time to replenish their equipment and build fortifications. That’s why they keep asking for a 30-day ceasefire but avoid actual negotiations.

“Negotiations” are just PR for Zelensky. He has no intention of ending the war. His “terms” are basically that Russia should retreat and give Ukraine back all its territory. So basically he wants the Russians to surrender.

In these things it seems important to let Zelenskiye play out his role. It says more than any comments we could make.
And another observation: it was President Putin who initiated the meeting and request.
Zelenskiye is just showing everyone how he wants to take over Ukraine is exactly same as the way he wants to take over a meeting that:
1 – he did not initiative meeting
2 – initially responded negatively
3 – only responded positively under veiled threat from POTUS (in other words Zeleskiye had a change of underwear)
4 – sought pretext to act out threatening behavior as dictator in charge of a meeting that … refer to 1, 2 and 3 again
5 – took instance of meeting not as a path to peace but as a path to further antagonize and express hostility – really counterproductive in terms of seeking peaceful settlement
6 – aimed and managed his behavior, pr and msm management to destroy initiative to find peace however slight that chance was

Elensky is a clown pretending to be president. So the most we can expect is a clown show. The only outcome will be settled in favour of Russia on the battlefield.

“Tomorrow morning, literally from 10 a.m., we will be waiting for the Ukrainian side, which should arrive for the meeting. We are ready for work,” he said.

The fact that Lavrov didn’t go either shows that Russia expected this stage of talks to just be a circus show. Russia did however send a delegation ready to continue on from the last talks 3 years ago just as Putin proposed.

Again Dima I don’t think these fortifications are a big deal. Russia has been advancing a lot since the beginning of the SMO and these were always there. It’s just you finally add more of these in detail. However these fortifications could be one of the reasons Russia sometimes awkwardly stopped and paused in certain locations , we couldn’t see and were blind to this on the ground but still it’s not going to be much of a problem.

Of course it is FOREVER… those REGIONS voted to join Russia. That is done, you want to undo it, have them vote to rejoin Ukraine. lol…Just because folks don’t like it, means nothing. It is something Ukraine regions have the right to do per their constitution. Voting was also watchdogged like no other, 100’s of foreign monitors were present, and not a single one said it was rigged or otherwise… it was paper after an ID check, all filmed. Cut and done.

The Russians came with the same delegation with new additions that participated in 2022. That shows the Russians were serious about negotiating. Only Ukrainians were playing to the gallery. Only one side was serious. For 3 years no one talked about any ceasefires.

It appears that zelenski will be abandoned by the Ukrainian army and there is likely that the will be a coupe or the Ukrainian army will take over Kiev government and they will decide either to surrender to Russia and stop the bloodshed between the two sides.
