Vietnam will pay the United States a 20% tariff on all goods imported into the United States, while American goods will be exported to Vietnam with zero tariff, Trump said.
“I am honored to announce that I have just concluded a trade deal with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam… Under the terms, Vietnam will pay the United States a 20% tariff on any goods shipped to our territory, and a 40% tariff on any transhipment. In return, Vietnam will do something it has never done before: give the United States full access to its markets for trade… We will be able to sell our products in Vietnam at zero tariff,” he wrote in Truth.
