The mythology of American military prowess as it currently stands is centered around their air and naval advantages. That a Middle Eastern militant group, armed and supplied by Iran, can not only seriously endanger them but impose massive costs upon the American military to the extent they are forced to concede the battle is nothing less than a revolution in military affairs confirmed. If the Houthis can do this, State actors (Such as China and Russia) definitely can and the costs of air and sea denial assets are much cheaper than the implements of power projection.
