Russia says its revenue from oil and gas sales in August rose 20% to $8.7 billion compared to the same month last year, Bloomberg reports.
This is explained by the rise in prices for Russian Urals oil ($74 per barrel) and the increase in gas exports.
The publication writes that Russia has adapted to European sanctions, found new buyers for its oil and launched a huge shadow fleet.
Gas supplies to China in July via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline set a historical record and exceeded contractual obligations many times over. According to Bloomberg calculations, gas exports to China increased by almost 33% compared to last year – to 2.8 billion cubic meters.
And pipeline gas supplies to Europe via Ukraine and Turkey increased by almost 6% to 2.67 billion cubic meters.
