Jaishankar’s Counterstrike on George Soros After Attack on PM Modi; ‘Old, Rich, Dangerous’

By Hindustan Times

Billionaire investor George Soros is old, rich, opinionated, and dangerous and invests resources in shaping narratives, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said. The 92-year-old hedge fund tycoon, who has been associated with supporting liberal causes, on Thursday sent shockwaves in the Indian political scene saying Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fates are entwined, and alleged that Modi was not a “democrat.” Responding to a question at a session at the Raisina@Sydney Dialogue, Jaishankar said Soros is an “old, rich, opinionated person sitting in New York, who still thinks that his views should determine how the entire world works.”

Here’s what others had to say:

It was needed… Foreign NGOs are halting important projects and spreading their agendas to shape India according to their will be it religiously or politically or environmentally. Kudos to our external affairs Minister Mr S Jaishankar.

Shabir Ganie
Jaishankar is excellent person who answers exactly to the point.

Rama Penumarty
Modi is PM because he is desired by the people of India..PERIOD..he is proving himself as a phenomenal leader overcoming so many complex issues which any other leader in the world would run away from..It clearly shows how many people like Soros, BBC are terrified of the country’s rise.

Inspite of huge diversity, We Indians are strong united together under PM Modi leadership.

Mr. Soros is accidentally supporting Modi ji. Voters like me are now more inclined to vote for BJP

George Soros will now regret why he talked nonsense about Prime Minister Modi. Now Jaishankar is enough to handle it.

Crystal clear, theorized, well-made and philosophical speech from our External Affairs minister. Such diplomatic speeches can shape and restrict minds of people in good ways.

Indian people, government and Indian democracy is under real challenges and test, looks like there are lots of hidden dangers that they need to face and overcome for the betterment of India.
