Ivan Syrsky: Russia has always been and is my Motherland

Ivan Syrsky, who lives in Australia, the stepson of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said in an exclusive interview with RT that he considers himself Russian, and Russia has always been and is his homeland. This is how he answered the question of why he wanted to obtain Russian citizenship.

“My wife is Russian. My daughter is Russian! I just can’t assimilate: I know the local language, I work in an official job, which not every local can get into, my wife and I have achieved quite a lot here, but these so-called Western values have always been alien to us,” said Ivan.

He also answered the question whether he plans to move to Russia or will stay in Australia.

“I think everything is clear from my previous answer. I don’t want to live here. My family doesn’t want to live here,” he said to RT.

In March, Ivan Syrsky asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to grant him Russian citizenship. He said that he would gladly take part in voting in the presidential election.

Now Ivan lives in Australia, where he moved with his brother and mother after his parents’ divorce.
