Joe Biden is facing his lowest approval ratings since taking office as a CBS poll found just 42% approve of his overall presidency; even 22% of those who voted for him in 2020 now disapprove.
He took the biggest approval hits on his handling of inflation, with 69% disapproving after the US rate hit 7.9% in February – its highest level since 1982.
The poll surveyed US residents, not specifically registered voters, but the findings are in line with forecasts of a Republican victory in the upcoming midterms.
