The Trump Justice Department is now tracking a horrifying mob assault on female York College students in Pennsylvania after video of the attack went viral.
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon responded Sunday to a post from Matt Van Swol highlighting the brutal assault, which occurred near York College’s off-campus housing last week.
“We are aware of this situation,” Dhillon wrote. “@CivilRights and [we] have been in touch with and tracking local law enforcement efforts on this since it happened last week. Cannot comment further.”

The incident reportedly began when a large crowd gathered near the students’ home following an illegal street-racing event. The girls told them to get off the property.
What followed was caught on video. Attackers ripped at least one blonde student off her own porch by her hair, dragged her toward a stop sign, and beat her while a crowd circled and filmed. Victims described being punched, kicked, maced, and piled on. One said she blacked out twice, once from a kick to the ribs, once from a blow to the back of the head.
She said she was trying to hold her tube top up with one arm while they hit her in the face. Another roommate was already in a knee brace from a sports injury. Friends were also dragged down the steps by their hair.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the students said they called 911 multiple times before police arrived. The attack was already over by the time officers reached the scene.
York City Police later disputed claims that emergency calls were ignored, saying multiple calls came in simultaneously around 1:49 a.m. and that officers were handling another critical incident. Police said the first officer arrived approximately three minutes later, at which point the crowd dispersed.
Three juvenile girls have since been charged in connection with the attack. Their charges reportedly include felony riot, simple assault, defiant trespass, and harassment. Because they are minors, their identities have not been released.
York County District Attorney Tim Barker promised that those responsible would be held accountable.
“We absolutely will fully hold accountable the individuals that did this,” Barker said.
Police also stated that they found no evidence the attack was racially motivated and that the case is not being treated as a hate crime. The injuries were described as bodily injuries but were not considered life-threatening.
