Letter to the Editor
The government says solar and wind are producing free power; how do they work that out.
Until your capital expenditure on the project is returned including all hidden subsidies, then it is not free.
You are still recouping the escalating costs until the outlay has been returned — only then is there a profit and not before. Maybe they do not teach that at school anymore.
The rest of the equation is the massive carbon footprint from all the material mined, processed, manufactured, transported and constructed — is far greater than the electrical carbon footprint of generation.
During the lifetime of the unit, it cannot ever recover the Carbon footprint of manufacturing and operating subsidies.
It is a project of expenditure and public subsidies that can never be recovered — only fools who lack the analytical ability and sense to take it to the final costing conclusion would support. Sadly, there appear too many of those fools in the community and parliament.
Too many politicians went to university learning no practical skills, unable to understand reality or realise few things are ever what they first appear to be, that if you spend more than the nation earns then you leave massive debts for future generations to pay from your incompetence, resulting the high interest rates in fifteen years, inflation and recessions. Where the nation has to suffer your incompetent stupidity.
Sincerely
