Sky News’ Paul Murray(video below) visits the latest Logie presentations which award its tight-knit mob of television personalities with trophies for having staged the worst television performance over the past year.
The Logies ceremony is the greatest example of media hypocrisy and mediocrity which unashamedly showers television performers with accolades only from within the industry itself. The few remaining, diehard TV viewers do decide the winner of the TV Week Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian television.
Each year television industry icons created within their own minds take it in turns to bestow niceties upon each other, some new face or a worn out one for an outstanding program or series that originates from within their own over-active imaginations while TV audiences fall to historic lows, tired of mindless repetition and left-flavoured Climate diatribe dribbling especially from the ABC and Channel Nine.
It’s a bit like the print media industry’s acclaimed Pulitzer Prize awarded from within a closed shop, handful of Murdoch, Fairfax or Nine Media newspaper reporters handing out kudos like icecreams to each other at tightly controlled media industry events. The legacy media have lost most of their traditional readers to independent internet news sites and Youtube.
If it were not for the generosity and benevolence of Gerry Harvey plastering TV, broadsheets and tabloids with his endless white goods ads combined with the largesse of either of the political party cabal booking millions of dollars in government ads in return for favourable coverage, Murdoch and Nine would cease to exist.
They hate Pauline Hanson and now it seems Bob Katter because these everlasting independents have mastered the internet and social media messaging with millions of followers and don’t need to pay for their expensive ads or jaundiced reporting in newspapers that few open and TV shows that few watch.

It might be the 20th anniversary of his remarkable father Steve’s death on the Barrier Reef from a stingray barb, but Robert Irwin (above) won’t ever be his father.
Robert has been modelling men’s underwear which can be found on questionable internet sites alongside other male figures who sometime resemble actors from a PorhHub site.

Unlike his father, Robert is lucky to be with us after he barely managed to dodge a savage attack from a large saltwater crocodile on the Wenlock River at Australia Zoo’s Bertie Haugh station on remote northern Cape York Peninsula nearly two years ago. Cairns News did ask Australia Zoo to comment about the unreported incident when supporters were preparing submissions for regional Parliamentary committee hearings about Katters Australian Party’s Crocodile Control and Conservation bill.
The Zoo declined to comment. Nevertheless Australia Zoo and Steve’s father Bob, managed to make idiots of themselves at committee hearings when trying to defend an estimated half a million marauding crocs found across north Queensland.
It mattered not to Bob his grandson was almost a croc dinner or the horrible fate of numerous tourists and far northerners who have been eaten or injured by a vastly out of control wild crocodile population. Australia Zoo and Bob don’t want a single croc removed from the wild and Bob reckons he would lay atop a wild croc if he thought someone was going to take a pot shot at it.
Mmmm! That might not end well Bob.
