Graham’s Own DEI Record and a Multimillion-Dollar Super PAC Network Raise Questions About the Political Machine Behind Her Campaign

Darline Graham & the SC GOP’s Ties to the LGBTQ Mafia — National File

A United Patriots Alliance report has renewed scrutiny of Darline Graham’s DEI record and the Security Is Strength PAC network behind her South Carolina Senate campaign. It casts Graham as another establishment candidate pushed by the same machine that rallied around the late Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Before Gov. Henry McMaster appointed her to the Senate seat, Darline Graham ran the South Carolina Commission for the Blind. In 2021, she told state House budget writers, “we’ve got a diversity, inclusion committee, I want to be a leader in state agencies when it comes to that,” the Post and Courier reported.

The commission’s 2023 annual report cited a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and a hiring push that made the agency “the most diverse it has been in nearly a decade.”

Graham later denied supporting DEI to the Washington Examiner.

FEC filings show Security Is Strength PAC reported $6.39 million in independent expenditures through Aug. 5. The Hill reported it spent more than $1.8 million in the final week before Graham’s runoff.

United Patriots Alliance calls it a lavender dark-money cartel. Voters can call it the LGBTQ Mafia or the establishment machine. The record shows who backed Graham and what she said.
