A Canadian woman living in the United States on a visa had both a reality check and a warning for Americans considering voting for Democrats in the midterms.

” I’m a Canadian who lives and works in the US,” she begins. “I’m here on a visa. It’s election time here in the US. Elections are coming up. It’s midterms.”

“I cannot sit here and stress enough how truly the left crumbles a nation, crumbles an economy, crumbles your lifestyle, crumbles your mental health.”

“I lived in Canada for the first 27 years of my life. I sat there and watched my homeland crumble under the liberals, the Democrats, whatever it’s— whatever you call it, okay? The left. And it’s, it’s, it’s really sad. It’s really, really sad, and it’s really heartbreaking. I didn’t want to grow up thinking that I would have to find a way out because life over there was so horrible. Drowning in taxes. Everything is so expensive.”

“Oh, free healthcare, blah blah blah. No, nothing in life is free, okay? Money does not fall from the sky. It does not, okay? Period. End of story. It does not. And I even will talk to my friends over here in the US, and I’m like, yeah, like, you know, oh, you bought your house for $200 grand? Guess what? Your house in my hometown, which is not even anything crazy, it’s a town of about 500,000 people, is minimum $600K.”

“Gas prices through the roof, taxes through the roof. You know, a lot of people pay over 50% in taxes, and that kicks in once you hit like $125 grand a year annually. If you make $125 grand a year, you are paying over 50% in tax. If you make $200 grand a year, you take home 85.”

“It’s horrible. It’s absolutely horrible. And I, I didn’t grow up hoping that I would be begging one day to leave Canada into the US. And I am very thankful I have a visa, and I live in the US now. And life over here is much better. I can afford to buy groceries. I can afford my housing. I can afford gas. I can afford my insurance.  I can afford a life, okay?”

“You do not, you do not, you do not want to be under a communist nation. And you know, anyone is going to be out here beefing with me like, oh no, no, no, like it’s not communist, blah blah blah. Guess what? It is. Because it’s a very, very, very slippery slope and it happens very slowly, but one second you’re gonna look back and say, oh my gosh.”

“You want to talk about rights? You want to talk about accessibility of things? In Canada, if you need to see a specialist, it’s at least a 9-month wait. At least a 9-month wait.”

“If you have some sort of like eye problem, for example, and you have to see a specialist to get eye surgery? Year and a half wait. You will go blind before you can see them. Blind.”

“See a doctor? Oh, give it 2 weeks. If you have like a sinister disease like strep throat, you are waiting for 12 hours in the emergency room or a walk-in clinic in hopes to see a physician to write you a prescription for amoxicillin to kill your strep throat.”

“Or what you do is you then have to resort to other resources. Like, there are different kind of like apps and stuff that are like $200 a month that you can like online chat with a doctor and say like, hey, I have strep throat. Please write me a prescription, and they, you know, trust you and they give you one, and then you send it to your pharmacy. It’s honestly unbelievable. Life in the US is way better than life in Canada.”

“Life in Canada is absolutely horrible. There is a reason why a lot of people are leaving Canada.”

“Do not let that same mentality get into power in the US. I swear, it’s not good. It’s not good.”

She also talks about how it’s like a 9 month wait just to see a specialist doctor. For something like an eye problem, she says the wait was about a year and a half

Americans need to understand how serious this is, here are the average wait time for doctors in Canada under universal healthcare

– Neurosurgery 49.9 weeks (nearly 1 year)
– Orthopaedic surgery 48.6 weeks
– Otolaryngology 43.8 weeks
– Overall elective specialist treatment is 7 months or longe. In some provinces it’s over 14 months
– Oral surgery is 16 weeks
– ENT, gynaecology and orthopaedics is over 1 year
– Rheumatology roughly 3 months

Of course Canada isn’t communist but many people call it communist because of the universal healthcare and extremely government policies. It’s actually a federal constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy
