Thunder: Iskander Strike Near Shostka Kharkiv Direction Heats Up Again Military Summary 21.05.2025

By Military Summary

This video describes the military situation in Ukraine on the 21st of May 2025.

Here’s what others had to say:

@MetallicReg
Zel sends his troops to die in the most irrelevant places of the whole frontline possible.
Losing further 200-300 men around that forest just out of spite is wild.

@vladimircurkoski1455
Ukrainians might say, it’s nothing we just lost 6 soldiers but for those 6 and their families it’s the worst dsy in this war.

@omnigma
Zelenskii has no heart, sending those men on a suicide mission like that, to ‘buy him some time’… That’s not a leader: it’s a Judas.

@zvelekva
It’s a very, very big forest….Every time I say that she slaps me, but this guy can say it and nothing happens to him!

@PoliticalChess-eh1zl
Russia shouldn’t stop what they are doing, nor enter into any negotiations. More: they shouldn’t even accept a surrender from Ukraine. Because they will be rearming and preparing for a future battle.

@fred4687
Those suicidal cross border PR stunts are causing problems with the local commanders who are fed up with the loss of men and resources for Zelensky’s media campaign.

@user-rd3yp8ri7x
When it comes to dividing territory in a peace settlement. The US and EU need to realize that RU is not going to give up any land that RU soldiers died to take. Period.

@Dontworryboutit73
Awesome Video, As a Russia who lives in USA these are very helpful since I know people fighting on both sides, I really appreciate you do these videos. You’re English is fucking good man by the way thanks

@avebia1147
This Millitary summit is the best info about situation if Ukrainie.

@leonbondior
Sylvain Feirrera et le Colonel Jacques Baud sont des spécialistes dans le domaine militaire très rigoureux dans leurs analyses du conflit en Ukraine.

@ytubepaul
It would be helpful if you mapped overall weekly changes of the frontline please.
And the area (sq km) changes on a weekly basis too.
Thorough work – thank you.

@SohailAhmed-v9c
I wish he would zoom out a bit at times, so that one can orientated oneself. The detail is superb but one sometimes gets lost in it and one thinks, “Where in Ukraine is this, exactly, I want to view overall changes wrt Russian forces overall”.

@GeoPoliticTruthTalk
Ukraine’s leaders have “one last chance to preserve, under certain conditions, after the end of military actions, some kind of statehood or, if you like, some kind of international legal personality and gain a chance for peaceful development.” -Slava RUkraine

@stkrrauch1
The ukrainians publish drone videos but lose a city everyday /talk about messed up priorities

@tucker2074
During a war of attrition it makes no sense to capture soldiers, your aim is to destroy the enemy.

@cee5429
Russia is like a boxer that punches once then stops… never follows up… always very slow and wants to win on points, despite knowing judges are crooked.

@cajampa
I bet the reason the Russians found that camp. Was because they had captured one of the Ukrainians in the big forest.
And they got the information about where there base in Ukraine was from them.

@ChuckPalomo
What is with these suicide missions? no matter how well planned and executed an operation is, if it has no strategic purpose it’s just a waste of manpower, at best.

@mandaloriancrusader6699
So they went camping into what is a giant forest without anything else in it, clearly not even Russian troops that can be deployed in hours if need arises but there is no need. They made literal fortifications in their Kursk offensive and lost over 60 thousand troops, you ain’t doing anything in forests at Bryansk other than give Guard and North Koreans something to do.

@zani1106
The training camp near the town Shostka Sumy Region was hit from Russia from 142km from inside Russia by an Iskander likely tens (if not hundred +) KIAs
Such strikes are happening every day in this form or another. So, the number of KIAs is now around 1.3-1.4 million.
Reported kill ratios by Russians themselves (from frontlines) vary between 1 to 15, to 1 to 20.
Eventually Russia will move away from an ‘attrition war” but even now in the last 16 months it has gained 1,800 sq km of Land whilst Russian loses are very small.
I dont remember a time in the last 1.5 years Kiev Regime Forces has even pushed back Russia forces anywhere along the frontline and held.

@ChrisCollier
Great report!
It seems that further sanctions won’t do much to Russia anyhow, but the west loves threatening them with further sanctions. I think sanctions should be abolished or considered an act of war. Sanctions were devastating to the civilians of Iran, Syria, etc. I’m sure that included loss of life. If that isn’t enough for a declaration of war I don’t know what is. I suppose one could look at it like sanctions are better than the USA, with it’s huge military forces, overpowering smaller countries. But I’ll leave that up to the poor folks that are being sanctioned. Does any other countries except the west use sanctions? I suppose only powerful countries can impose sanctions so it is only them doing it. I seem to be answering some of my questions…..
Cheers.

@mmazourov
Dima, what Donald Trump said is NOT a huge attack on Ukraine and Ukrainian people – it is a huge attack on those who want to continue the war. Incidentally these people are mostly based in the Western European capitals, Washington and Kiev. I know English is not your first language, but that last statement was so far off, I think it needs correcting. Ukrainian people stand to benefit from Trump’s statement.

@ediss821
NATO has more advantages maps, they have more Recons Satellites.

@lonestar1233
A usual, Russia is not making meaningful progress. The Russian soldier is amazing. The leaders of the Russian military still appear to be incompetent and likely corrupt. This is sad.
Dima, stop reporting news outside of Ukraine and Russia. You are clueless concerning the West. You are also incompetent in predicting future Ukraine or Russian military actions. You are almost always very wrong and your videos become nonsense.
Stick to reporting facts in the Ukraine War. You are good at this and your videos have value.

@moseskulo6993
Dima, Kharkiv is less than 50 kilometers from Russia, but Russian forces failed to take the city when Ukrainian forces were not prepared in 2022. Do you think Russian forces would take the city now when the Ukrainian forces are stronger than ever before? Putin is wasting Russian forces, equipment, economy, and logistics fighting unwinnable war. Every day, you are reporting Russian forces establishing control but unable to push Ukrainian forces out of Kursk, Belgorod, and capture annexed Ukrainian territories, yet many of you think Russia is winning by losing thousands of soldiers monthly. Russian forces are planning flags and hide under basements until they are destroyed.
