A ceasefire gives an advantage only to the losing / retreating side of the conflict.

The buffer zone has absolutely nothing to do with long-range drones.. They can easily fly a hundred kilometers longers… It’s about having time to react when armies move into them.. These zones exist since centuries!

While your troops advance and you have an undisputable advantage, the others offer a ceasefire. Any sane person would react by saying “Are you out of your mind” and thus enable his opponents to point fingers: “See, they don’t want peace”. Putin: “I love the idea of this ceasefire. PS: on these conditions”, basically saying yes while actually saying no.

Last cease fire 2015. The milliae moved back 10 kilometres. The Ukrainians moved forward 10 kilometres, and pushed forwards even more. The millitae put their artillery in parks, the Ukrainians kept shelling civillian targets “shoot and scoot”… The Ukrainians will never honour any cease fire or peace deal.

Rússia will create a buffer zone. That buffer zone will contain everything east of the Dniepr river. If things get really bad, Russia will cross the river.

Cease fire agreements aren’t good for this conflict, because NATO would only use the ceasefire to re-arm Ukraine. Ukraine and NATO have already shown that they can’t be trusted with agreements, the only thing that will work here is an unconditional surrender be it by Ukraine or Russia. I know Russia won’t surrender, they know that their existence depends on winning the conflict, so I’m hoping the Ukrainian people will force the Ukrainian government to surrender and end the war.
