Dima, I believe you overestimate the capability of the USA to provide air defense to Ukraine. The IMC of the USA is completely overrun by Russian capabilities to fire drones and missiles at Ukraine. The USA stocks are dangerously low and this is not 600 new missiles a year that will allow the USA to defend Ukraine while replenishing their own stocks. The US is not “out” of air defense systems, it’s the Rare Earth Minerals needed to make the Guidance Systems. Raytheon makes Guidance Systems, and magnets for both the F-35’s and the older versions of the Patriot Missile Defense Systems. Due to the supply chain disruptions from Africa, and the New Mining Guidelines in China, the US can’t get enough to resupply or manufacture the newer systems.

Kiev is way beyond needing more AA defenses , they are near their defeat. It is up to Russia now to decide how this conflict will end with Ukraine and NATO.

NATO taxpayers can not keep up. 1 patriot missile cost around 80 Shahed drones . The idea of sustainable air defence is dumb in this case.

Please have him stay at hotel x and since he isn’t there to take in the sights, he will either be at his hotel or Zelensky office. As long as he’s at one of those two places he will be safe. It’s common knowledge that annual production of Patriot missiles is around 700 (and production has been fully ramped up since 2023!).
I’m not talking about vehicles that transport these missiles or act as launch vehicles. Just missiles.

Imagine that you are part of the Ukrainian reinforcements sent to replace the previous contingent of Ukrainian reinforcements who were just wiped out. A terrible situation for these men who were kidnapped off the street a few weeks ago and then sent straight to the front.

MOSCOW, July 11 – RIA Novosti. The Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the liberation of Zelenaya Dolina in the DPR.
The ministry published footage of combat operations during the occupation of the settlement. The video shows Russian servicemen unfurling the Russian flag in this settlement.
It is noted that the group’s servicemen carried out active and decisive actions, and also used artillery and attack drones. They destroyed military equipment and firing points of Ukrainian militants.

The question is, how many Patriot systems does it need to defend kyiv alone, if it receives around 500 missiles and drones daily? And how many missiles would they have to fire in each attack to even halfway accomplish their mission? 600 or more per attack? Where will such a large number of missiles for the Patriots come from? Israel, with perhaps the best anti-aircraft system in the world, could have stopped everything they fired at it, and it was much less. I don’t think Ukraine can. Personally, I think Zelensky wants the Patriots to attack Russia, not to defend the capital or other cities.
