Indonesia is one of the world’s fastest-rising nations, forecast to rank among the largest economies by 2050. Yet while millions can identify the skylines of New York, London, Singapore or Dubai instantly, ask them to picture Jakarta — and many simply can’t.
This concept proposes changing that, through the transformation of one of Jakarta’s most iconic locations: Bundaran HI.
The vision
A beautifully landscaped civic plaza where Indonesians and international visitors gather every day. A permanent entertainment stage hosting cultural performances, concerts, national celebrations and international events. And every evening, a spectacular laser, light and multimedia show — projection mapping, fountains and music combining to tell Indonesia’s remarkable story.
The aim is a single landmark that becomes the symbol of modern Indonesia: an image that works on television, in films, across social media and in tourism campaigns around the world.
