Seven One Nation MP’s sworn into SA parliament next week

The transformation of South Australia’s political landscape will be set in concrete next week when seven new One Nation MPs are sworn in on the opening day of the new Parliament.

Cory Bernardi, Carlos Quaremba, Rebecca Hewett, Chantelle Thomas, Jason Virgo, David Paton and Robert Roylance will officially start their terms on Tuesday, 5 May.

The team has already been in action in the lead up to Parliament. In addition to demanding an inquiry into the conduct of the election they’ve had many meetings with stakeholders, done orientation and training, moved into electorate offices, begun hiring staff and dealt with a lot of media interviews.

Recreational fishing restrictions, transmission lines on farmland, marine infrastructure and hospital upgrades, regional public transport, the election inquiry and the long process of reforming local government are some of the priorities the team will deal with when they take their seats for the first time.
