Russia Bans Google Ads

Russia Bans Google Ads

By sweN TR

Russia’s media regulator has banned advertising of Google information resources in the country – for non-compliance with local laws.

“The complete ban on distribution of advertising on Google and its resources is due to the spreading of misinformation by a foreign entity in violation of the Russian legislation,” the press office of Roskomnadzor said, via the regulator’s telegram-channel.

According to the agency, Google-owned YouTube, refused to remove over 12,000 videos allegedly spreading fake news about the course of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
