According to the Newspaper, the New Commander of the Army was APPOINTED by Alexandre de Moraes (STF)
The new commander of the Army, General Tomás Miguel Miné Ribeiro Paiva, was appointed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), to the then elected government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in December, on eve of the announcement of the new commanders of the Armed Forces, as reported by government and higher court sources.
On Wednesday (18), during a ceremony at the Integrated Headquarters, in São Paulo, the man chosen to replace Arruda in command of the Army said that the result of the polls should be respected. The general stated that “it doesn’t matter who is in charge, we will carry out the mission in the same way”.
The lines of support for the government and the discursive tone forced by Tomás bothered several military groups that do not consider the governance of a ‘corrupt and thief’ to be legitimate.
