Fifteen innocent people were slaughtered at Bondi. Families were torn apart. Our nation was shaken to its core.
So, what did the government do?
They set up a Royal Commission… that refuses to even name the ideology behind the attack.
That’s right.There is not a single mention of Radical Islam in the terms of reference for the Royal Commission.
Not. Even. Once.
Instead, they talk about “social cohesion.”
Let’s be honest about what that means. It means dodging the truth. It means protecting political sensitivities. It means preparing the ground for more laws that silence everyday Australians rather than stopping the next attack.
If they can’t even say what caused this, how can they possibly stop it from happening again?
Right now, the Terms of Reference for this Royal Commission are deeply flawed.
They repeatedly refer to “social cohesion,” yet never require the Royal Commission to identify the extremist ideology of Radical Islam that motivated the attack. There is also no clear mandate to examine whether immigration or visa policies contributed to the risk. There is no requirement to investigate foreign funding or transnational Islamic extremist networks. And most concerning of all, the Royal Commission is explicitly told to avoid “undermining social cohesion,” raising the real possibility that politically sensitive truths will be watered down or ignored.
Australians deserve honesty. This attack was not caused by a “lack of cohesion.” It was driven by radical Islamic ideology. If we refuse to name it, we guarantee more attacks. If we refuse to examine how this individual was able to be radicalised, enter, or remain in Australia, we leave the same vulnerabilities wide open.
Submissions to the Royal Commission are open right now… but only until May 2026. That means the window to influence its direction is closing fast.
The government has already used this tragedy to push through new hate speech laws that restrict what Australians can say. Instead of fixing the problem, they are managing the narrative. Instead of protecting the public, they are protecting themselves.
If people stay silent now, this Royal Commission risks becoming nothing more than a taxpayer-funded exercise in political correctness, one that shifts blame onto society at large while shielding real failures in policy, borders, and intelligence.
This matters because what happens here will shape the future.
If the Radical Islamist ideology behind this attack is buried, resources will be misdirected. Security agencies will be hamstrung. Immigration and visa settings will remain untouched. And ordinary Australians will face tighter speech laws for simply telling the truth.
But if enough people speak up now, we can tackle the root cause of the problem.
We can ensure Radical Islam is not only named but adequately countered. We can push for proper scrutiny of immigration and border controls. We can demand stronger counter-radicalisation measures. And we can protect the fundamental right to speak honestly about the threats facing our country.
Demanding clarity is not hate. Naming the extremist ideology of Radical Islam is not bigotry. Prioritising national security is not racism.
For safety. For freedom. For Australia.
