Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson just signed an order making city property off-limits to ICE. As federal troops deploy to Chicago, this is a bold stand for accountability and human rights. No city should ever be turned into a battleground for political power. pic.twitter.com/5qI3Mr8Khh

Kash Patel claims that nearly 5% of Chicago’s 2.5 million residents, about 110,000 people, are gang members.

These ICE agents are out of control in Chicago. This one’s aiming a loaded weapon at a woman just for filming him as he hunts immigrants in broad daylight. This shit is beyond fucked up—and it’s only a matter of time before one of these losers pulls the trigger. pic.twitter.com/B2udLCReKI

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson:
“This president is unstable, unhinged.”

This is not the first time Trump has tried to have a Black man unjustly arrested. I’m not going anywhere. pic.twitter.com/MQdHtzis3t

Trump sent 300 Illinois National Guard troops to Chicago on October 5, adding 200 from Texas that landed yesterday, all to guard ICE spots after agents shot a woman during raids in Broadview on October 4, which set off street fights like the ones in Los Angeles back in June. Governor JB Pritzker sued right away, saying it breaks Posse Comitatus rules, and a Portland judge stopped a similar plan there on Sunday. This brings back Eisenhower’s 1957 move in Little Rock to force school change, but Trump turns it into a fight against blue cities to push his border rules. He wants the trouble to grow so he can call in bigger powers, like the Insurrection Act, and test who bends first. Crowds will pack the streets soon, with arrests up 20 percent already from DHS counts, and today’s hearing with Judge April Perry could spark more lawsuits that hit the 2026 votes hard. Pritzker hit back on X about it being thuggery, Mayor Brandon Johnson called it an invasion, and Stephen Miller said it’s just keeping agents safe from wild crowds. But CBP numbers put border crossings at lows from the 1970s, and Chicago murders fell half in four years, so the big danger talk falls flat. Folks in the streets are marching now, hundreds strong downtown, yelling no to troops in their town. When bosses pick fights with their own people, the whole setup starts to crack.
