Queensland LNP Premier David Crisafulli has doubled or tripled the prescribed penalties for gun misuse, but admirably, will not reduce the number of firearms a licenced shooter can own or participate in a gun buy back. Last week PM Albanese’s office told Cairns News he could do no more about a buyback and that it was up to the states. Queensland, Tasmania and the Northern Territory, all LNP controlled, will not participate in Labor’s disarmament proposals. Federally the LNP did not support a buyback either.
Queensland’s proposed 10-20 years jail time for those owning unregistered firearms is a double-edged sword for an unknown number of licenced firearm owners including farmers who could also own grandfather’s valuable old family heirloom, a Greener 12 gauge shotgun or Uncle Sam’s Martini Henry .310, inoperable, single shot rifle from the Boer War but never registered for fear of confiscation. This would be a genuine concern under Labor’s intended buy back.
Crisafulli’s vastly inflated penalties are fanciful in the least because the Muslim bikie gangs or the local branch of Cosa Nostra will never register their innumerable firearms even if the LNP places them on death row. Take a squiz at the many hundreds of black Africans comprising Victoria’s urban gangland terrorists. Ask the dumb Victoria Premier how many of their machetes or guns were dumped in her $350,000 metal amnesty bins placed outside police stations.
The LNP, its former police officer cum Police Minister and shooters organisations should be forced to sit down to watch the epic survival movie ‘Red Dawn’ with Patrick Swayze from 1984. When Soviet and Cuban paratroopers invade Colorado, a group of teenagers flee to the mountains. Left with nowhere to run, they engage in guerilla warfare with the invading forces.
One notable tactic used by Russian troops was to go to sheriff’s and council offices seizing all firearm registers. The insurgents visited the addresses seizing guns then placing the gun owners and their families into re-education compounds. Any resistance and the families were shot.
The gun amendment bill was tabled in State Parliament last week and has gone to a committee to be rubber stamped for the LNP to pass it. All parliaments have a serious problem which the people urgently need to know. Any Australian Parliament is not a valid organ representing the Sovereignty of the Commonwealth of Australia and cannot pass any laws which can have valid application within Australia, or anywhere else for that matter. This rather astute and sharp young American has hit the nail on the head about government disarmament. If the population is armed it can shoot back when errant, fascist governments attempt disarmament or any other serious abuse of human rights. As Elder of the Australian parliament Bob Katter told Labor, ” Under your proposed laws, the only people in Australia to own guns will be those in uniforms. “
British media personality Katie Hopkins has sent a message to the Australian Labor government after the Bondi massacre: “I take no pleasure in this message, but it is entirely your fault that this has happened on Bondi Beach. You import people into Australia who only wish harm on Australian citizens,” Hopkins said.
“You took away their right to bear arms so they are not capable of defending themselves and your priorities are always to go after people who do no harm.”
Hopkins has a history with Australian governments. She was deported from Australia in July 2021 after she boasted on social media about breaching mandatory COVID-19 quarantine rules.
While in mandatory hotel quarantine in Sydney for a planned appearance on Big Brother VIP, Hopkins posted a video on Instagram in which she joked about opening her door naked and maskless to workers delivering food. She also correctly described lockdowns as a “hoax”
The Seven Network and production company Endemol Shine immediately dropped her from the reality show. The Australian Liberal National Party government revoked her visa, and she was escorted to the airport for removal.
She was fined $1,000 for failing to wear a face mask.
Then-Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews condemned the behaviour as “appalling” and a “slap in the face” for Australians, saying, “She’s clearly not someone that we want to keep in this country for a second longer than we have to”.
