WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump officially handed his endorsement to Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott’s “Sunshine Protection Act,” locking the clocks on Daylight Savings Time, which began March 9.
“The House and Senate should push hard for more Daylight at the end of a day,” the president said Friday morning. “Very popular and, most importantly, no more changing of the clocks, a big inconvenience and, for our government, A VERY COSTLY EVENT!”
Scott’s bill was heard in a U.S. Senate committee hearing on Thursday. It has bipartisan support.
“Locking the clock is a common sense change that benefits Americans and makes their lives easier,” Scott said. “It’s time to make it happen and pass my Sunshine Protection Act!”
