Federal agents raided the Washington, DC-area residence of far-left Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) early Monday morning as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into her immigration paperwork.
Fox News Digital reported exclusively that the pre-dawn raid is part of an ongoing criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork, documents filled out by her late father when she was a child. Multiple agents wearing HSI jackets were observed outside the residence in the early hours.
A DOJ spokesperson stated:
“Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation.”
The confirmation represents a significant escalation in a controversy that has followed the Minnesota Democrat for years.
This comes weeks after White House border czar Tom Homan publicly confirmed in mid-September that Omar was the subject of an ongoing “criminal” investigation. Homan has emphasized that no one is above the law and that denaturalization remains possible in proven cases of immigration fraud. Omar previously dismissed the probe, telling a reporter that Homan had been “saying some dumb sh*t” and denying she was under investigation or had been contacted by authorities.
This is developing.
