LABOR and the Greens have revealed their dirty ideological underwear by blocking Pauline Hanson’s second attempt to restore legislation that recognises biological sex over gender identity.
The Epoch Times reported that the two parties blocked the Sex Discrimination Amendment (Acknowledging Biological Reality) Bill 2024 at the first reading stage before it could even get on to the floor of the Senate.
On the floor of the Senate after the defeat of the Bill, the Greens Maoist Senator from Tasmania, Nick McKim, railed against One Nation senators calling them “perverts” for “being obsessed with other people’s gender”.
“We don’t want to hear what perverts you are,” said McKim, who was repeatedly warned against his outburst by the Senate President. “I think you’re perverts. You are perverts.” McKim, who is apparently not gay, is the Greens spokesman for LGBTQ+ matters.
The cowardly action saved Labor and Green Senators from having to publicly defend a gang of anti-Christian transgender legal terrorists who use public money to run lawfare operations against people like Family First leader Lyle Shelton, Binary.org operator Kirralie Smith, and Sall Grover, the founder of the female-only app Giggle for Girls.
Shelton has been pursued back and forth in the courts by the transgender gang for seven years on “vilification” charges over his blogs about a Drag Queen Story Time event at a Brisbane public library in January 2020.
The Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) ruled in a 76-page decision back in 2020 that Mr. Shelton did not vilify two drag performers who sued him for “hate speech” by suggesting they were “dangerous role models for children.”.
Shelton’s blog exposed the drag queen community who vilifed the late Wilson Gavin, the gay leader of the UQ Liberal National Club, who opposed drag queen story times: “After baying for his blood, LGBTIQA+ activists turned their vile vitriol at Wilson Gavin into faux forgiveness after he threw himself under a train on Monday,” Shelton wrote.
“In (Rainbow activist Sally) Rugg’s eyes Wilson, as an openly gay man, was a traitor to the rainbow cause because he campaigned against redefining marriage and gender fluid theory. The only problem is that Wilson did not need her forgiveness. He did nothing wrong.
“The wrongdoing is done by those who put drag queens in front of children and who want to spread their radical sexual expressionism and gender confusion to children everywhere.”
Shelton’s mild criticism of the drag queens was not without substance, as he has reposted drag queen community social media content, showing activities that can only be described as brazenly degenerate.
The seven years of legal action has been funded by groups such as Equality Australia, who run strategic litigation to challenge discriminatory laws and policies in landmark cases, Community Legal Centres (CLCs) that include Queensland’s LGBTI Legal Service and mainstream centers like Justice Connect that provide free or low-cost advice and representation for LGBTQIA+ individuals.
These are funded by State, Territory and Commonwealth grants, “though they often face chronic underfunding”, according to Google AI.
Major law firms (e.g., Maurice Blackburn) also dedicate significant pro-bono resources “to represent marginalized individuals and fight systemic discrimination.
In the Senate last month, Hanson moved to restore her Sex Discrimination Amendment (Acknowledging Biological Reality) Bill 2024 to the Notice Paper and resume consideration of the bill at the first reading stage after it was voted down in 2024 by a majority of Labor and Greens senators.
The motion was defeated 32–25, with Labor and the Greens voting against it, while the Liberal Party supported the motion alongside One Nation.
Following the vote, Senator Hanson took to social media, claiming Labor and the Greens had “just voted against every Australian woman who wants their space protected from biological men,” the Epoch Times reported
“Both parties took the extraordinary step of denying One Nation’s Sex Discrimination Act (Acknowledging Biological Reality) Bill from even being introduced to Parliament, something that never happens to other parties,” Hanson said on X.
“Labor and the Greens are too scared to even debate their position because they know it’s indefensible: they believe biological men should be allowed to entre female only spaces, no matter the consequences.”
The bill seeks to remove “gender identity” from the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 and replace it with definitions of “man” and “woman” based on biological sex at birth.
Hanson vowed in May to reintroduce the private member’s bill after the Federal Court ruled against Sall Grover in Tickle v Giggle.
Grover, the founder of the female-only app Giggle for Girls, lost her appeal against a Federal Court ruling that found she had discriminated against transgender woman Roxanne Tickle by removing her from the platform.
Liberal Senator Matt O’Sullivan backed the procedural move from Hanson, arguing that it was “extremely rare” to block restoring a private senator’s bill to the notice paper.
“Restoration of a private senator’s bill is a routine and procedural step that should be respected,” Senator O’Sullivan said in the Senate.
“The Coalition supports these established procedures, as we have on many occasions involving other private senator’s bills that we have ultimately opposed.
“As in all cases, a vote to restore a bill to the notice paper is simply a vote to uphold the procedural rights of every duly elected senator.”
Greens Senator Nick McKim sought leave to make a one-minute statement after the vote, but leave was not granted. Labor and the Greens otherwise did not speak on the motion.
Liberal Senator Alex Antic questioned why Labor and the Greens were unwilling to debate the motion, describing it as staggering that the two parties had voted together to defeat Hanson’s attempt to restore her bill to the Notice Paper.
“This time last year they also blocked my Sex Discrimination Amendment (Restoring Biological Definitions) Bill 2025,” Antic said on X. “Why won’t they debate this issue?”
